Default SNEAK PEEK: LOSI 5IVE BRAKES FROM AXIS R/C

I thought I'd show a few pics of what I have coming soon. These brakes allow quick brake inspection / change with out using any tools. Pads can be changed out in a matter of seconds by pulling a couple of pins. Pads are semi metallic and are available in different compounds. Brake modulation is greatly improved and they run relatively cool due to the stainless leaf spring that keeps the pads off the rotors when the brakes aren't engaged. We've been developing these since last spring and with a few more tweaks to the design they should be ready soon.

Chief, is that same size/dimension used in Mountain bike disk brake pads?

Yes. These are "off the shelf" pads. The advantages of that are, they are dyno tested to 10,000 stops, they have a correct temp range, they are available in different compounds already and I don't have to make them. Depending on how the rotor design works out, I may have to modify the pad for clearance.
