Default FG sportline 530 roll bar

Hey guys I picked up my first on road car last week a FG sportline 4x4 530 Mercedes. Like everything RC I get I look for improvement and this was no exception.
What I'm working on is a internal roll bar to help protect the motor and gas tank for one of those OS moments. It'll be made from the same proven material my Losi light and nerf bars are made from.

The 3/8" dia. 6061 T-6 aluminum rod will bolt to the existing unused holes in the factory chassis. It'll be a plug and play install.

My question:
If this is something that you guys with that platform would be interested in let me know. When I do get mine finished I'll post some pics ...

Thx

I would be interested, provided it sits under the body in the same spot where the real deal would be. Great idea! If you can add crossbars in the back too, if there would be enough room, it would make whatever see-through there is after tinting the windows much more enjoyable.

I'd be down too. There are a number of things on the Sportsline that can be improved.

Yes sir it would be inside the body and high enough to protect the plug. It will run in between the engine and tank with bracing running down what would be the windshield post to the chassis at the front of the tank. I'll definitely check out the crossbar thought....

I'm into custom so keep the suggestions coming...

So far I gotta BMW & Mercedes body to use as guides ...

Buddy thanks for the props...
Man I've been a union Boilermaker & Ironworker for 3 decades.... Yeah I'm an old fart...

I taught myself AutoCAD abt 10 years ago and started designing & producing shit for myself. Problem was I had to wait on the dam programmer to do his thing...
Long story short I'm the dam programmer now. I've also discovered a design/engineering program called SolidWorks and have been going nuts with what it'll do. Designing in 3D is fkn awesome man. Build it, put it motion then evaluate it... sweet..

I also been messing with vector files using Adobe Illustrator CS6 to make some logo's... Think I better stick to CAD programs... LMFAO

Here's a couple pics...

Our 6’ 300 ton press setup to form a run of Losi nerf and light bars

Here’s a couple Digital programmable saw to insure accuracy in every cut…

Here’s the CNC press my Aluminum bodies, HPI and Losi stands are form on.

We have one of the nicest TIG machines I’ve ever used.

A Hydef plasma machine is used for the parts I don’t have laser or water jet cut

You want big we can go big… 10’ x 30’ duel torch plasma, 16’ shear, 16’ x 400 ton press & if you need some 2.5” thick material rolled we got you covered too…Lol
